Opening October 3rd!

Well, it has been a long time coming, but Rising Phoenix Martial Arts will finally be opening for business on October 3rd, which is this coming Monday!  This dojang has been my dream since I was just a boy.  What we are building here is not just another taekwondo school, but institute of higher learning for the martial arts as a whole.  A place where people from all walks life can come together under a single roof with a kindred embodiment of the warrior ethos.  A place of scholastic study and athletic rigor where people with big hearts can make equally grand changes in their lives. It took Seonok and I a long time to get back to America, find the right place with just the right building and remodel that building in manner that accommodated all our needs, but now, out of obscurity comes something that has been curing in the bedrock of our hearts and minds for the last decade, an institution of integrity and passion that we wish to share with the budding town of Kyle, TX.  Please come see us at your earliest convenience.  A grand new journey awaits you and your family just around the corner.

For this week only, you can still preregister online by completing the application on our website here: qualifies you for a FREE months of instruction with the purchase of your uniform and 40% off tuition for up to one year of training.  Please spread the word.

Kyle Field Day Canceled

Unfortunately, it looks like the Field Day will not be happening today.  Sorry for the late announcement.  I'm just learning now that they are postponing it till next spring.  We will be teaching some classes at the Hogwash Festival, which is coming up next month.  I'll post some information about that as we get closer to the date.

Kyle Field Day

Good morning everyone,

We are still waiting on our review from the city, but we should be open very soon.  In the interim, we will be at Kyle Field Day this weekend, Saturday, which will be held at Gregg-Clark Park.  (You can find out more about this event by visiting their website here:  We'll be teaching two, twenty minutes classes, one at 2:00 PM and another at 5:00 PM.  If you want to sample our teaching style and curriculum, you might stop by.  These classes will be very low-key and meant for all ages.
